A Decade of Gifts and Discoveries: From the University of Denver Art Collections

The Myhren Gallery’s first exhibition of 2014 was a great success, simultaneously kicking off the first week of classes at the School of Art and Art History.  The exhibition, A Decade of Gifts and Discoveries, highlights artworks directly from University of Denver’s art collection, with a focus on acquisitions (some surprising) from the last decade. From 19th century watercolors, to Warhol Polaroids and a sculpture by Donald Judd, this eclectic gathering of works is a crowd pleaser that demonstrates the variety and quality of the University’s growing art collection.

The opening on January 9th was followed by a post-opening event at nearby “Snarf’s, which was sponsored by DU ART!, the philanthropic organization of the School of Art and Art History. The exhibition is an early kick off to DU’s Sesquicentennial events in the coming months and will run until March 9, 2014. Don’t miss it!
